It's beginning to look a lot like...

Christmas!

I know, I know...let's get through Thanksgiving first.

Believe me, I am right there with you but it's all the peer pressure.  I'm caving to the marketing gods advertising hard every which way you turn.

But seriously, I have started to plan #hardtobelieve #not
and thought that you might be planning too.

So today's Friday Favorites will be dedicated to

Stocking Stuffers

I LOVE a good stocking.
I love it more than the largest, most elaborately wrapped gift under the tree.

Throw Back Thursday

...to October 31, 2016

I haven't gotten around to posting about Halloween so today we are going to throw it back a whopping 10 days!

I have said it before but I love Halloween.
I don't love it for the scare factor or gore but I love it for our tradition and time spent as a family.

Thankfully, my office closed early on Monday so I was able to get home to assist AB with getting into costume.

We headed out at 6:00...trying to beat the crowd and the dark.
Luckily we were able to accomplish both.

So we park at a local subdivision and walk from house to house.  The residents of the neighborhood really do a great job and get into the spirit of things.  They have great decorations and the majority of the homes participate.  I also love to see all of the other kiddos (& parents) dressed up.

Once through the neighborhood and AB's bucket was full.
Time to head back home where our crock of soup was simmering away.

Several years ago, through Food Network, I was introduced to Chicken Tortilla Soup by Trisha Yearwood.  It was love at first taste.  It has since been added to our Halloween tradition.

In years past, we (Z and I) have not dressed up as anything other than our "normal" selves.  This year, however, I ran across this and just couldn't pass up the opportunity for Z to "dress up".

I think I've started something, I'm already thinking about who/what we can be next year.

Any suggestions?

Until Next Time,
Heather

OMG, I've won the lottery!

Ha, Ha...JK

Bet I got your attention didn't I?

Well since you're here...might as well stick around and keep reading.
Today I am going to have a little fun dreaming about what I would do if I won the lottery.

Linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesday.

$54 Million Dollars

That is the amount that is currently up for grabs in the Mega Million Jackpot.  Now bear with my nerdy math mind for a moment...for all intents and purposes we are going to say that Ole Uncle Sam is getting 1/2 which would leave me

$27 Million Dollars

I'm opting for a one time, lump sum payment; none of this monthly salary for 20 years business.

First Things First

Would I quit my job?
Why yes, yes I would...and I probably wouldn't give a notice.  Odds are, I might not even call in.
#sorrynotsorry

Next Up

After speaking with a trusted financial advisor and securing future earnings for myself, children, family and close friends; I'd make several charitable donations to churches and charities that are near and dear to my heart.

Now For The FUN Stuff...

1.  Build my dream home

A country farmhouse nestled deep in the woods surrounded by pastures for cattle and horses.

2.  Install a pool at said Farmhouse

3.  Buy a beach house

on the Gulf of Mexico so that I could wake up to this view on any given day.

4. Road Trip

Image result for see every state road trip image

to see every state in the United States.
Making sure to stop at all landmarks along the way.

I've had so much fun spending my winnings...I better run out to the Golden Pantry before they close and buy a ticket!

Seriously, this was all in fun and I have NO idea where I'd even begin if I actually won $27 Million Dollars but it's always fun to dream.

What would YOU do if you won the lottery?

Until Next Time,
Heather

My first born

is turning 22!!

If that don't make you feel old, I don't know what does.

So today is all about this one

...the one who made me "Mommy".

She is my

Dorothy loving,

Sound of Music singing,

Grease dancing,

bookworm.

On November 7, 1994 at 5:50 a.m. ... nearly 2 weeks late, she decided to finally allow us to meet her face to face.  Since that day 22 years ago, she has been an over achiever, striving for perfection in everything that she does.

She walked at 9 mos old.

She was carrying on full fledged conversations by the time she was 2.

She was reading by age 4.

She graduated High School in the top of her class.

She is a world traveler, spending a month in England several summers ago.

Now as a Senior in college, she is Editor of The Navigator.  She co-host a weekly radio show on WPCZ; all while maintaining grades landing her on the Dean's List.

I don't know what her future holds but I do know that it will be BRIGHT!

As much as I'd love to have my little girl back...to hold her little hand one more time; I am excited to see what this next year, the next 5 years, the next decade has in store for this lady; my beautiful daughter.

Happy Birthday Cammie Megan!

May this year be the best one yet...

Love you baby girl,
Mama

Country Faves

In honor of Wednesday nights airing of the CMA's, I've decided that today's FAVORITES will be
ALL ABOUT MUSIC.

I love music.
Music speaks to my soul.
I love how hearing a song can take you back to a memory that you thought was gone forever.
Music can pull emotions out of me that I didn't know existed.
Music is my medication.

I like most genres of music but I guess my most favorite, what I always go back to, is Country.  I image that stems from my youth, growing up in the South with a Mom that loved Alabama and a Dad that listened to Y106.7 every morning on the way to school.
Country music is in my blood; It's my roots.

So today I'm going to share a little bit of new and whole lot of old.

Sit back, relax and listen

OR

better yet,
 get up and dance!

ONE

I have to start with my all time FAVORITE artist...Kenny Rogers.

I could go on and on because I LOVE all of Kenny's music.

TWO

Next up...Alabama.  I'd have to say that they are probably my all time FAVORITE group.

Much like Kenny, Alabama has never recorded a bad song...I LOVE them all.

THREE

King George
#needIsaymore

Once again, I could go on and on...they don't call him  "King" George for nothing.

FOUR

Carrie Underwood

First of all, let's just take a moment to reflect on just how beautiful she is.

That girls got some pipes!

FIVE

I could listen to this song over and over again...the guitar, the deep voice.
It also reminds me of my Mama Jane & Paps; both of which are now with Jesus.

SIX

This song also reminds me of my Grandparents; my Papa & Granny Love, Mama Jane & Paps.
Not to mention this is exactly what I want for my children.

"Hold the door
 Say Please
Say Thank You
Don't Steal
Don't Cheat
and Don't lie"

#uglycry

SEVEN

Another one that I never get tired of hearing is

Ha Ha

EIGHT

I ran across this song while listening to Google Play and thought it was the best!

"Ruins your lipstick, not your mascara"

My last two FAVORITES are compilations, combining the old and the new.

If you saw the opening act of the CMA show on Wednesday then watch it again!

I know that it is a bit long (almost 12 minutes) but believe me it is worth it!

P.S.  Grab some tissue, you're gonna need it...

What is your favorite country song?
Who is your favorite country artist?
